Education Department
I love learning in all its forms. This section discusses the joys and challenges of education, and has articles and materials for both traditionally schooled and homeschooled families. My children have spent time in both public schools and homeschools and I have found benefits and challenges in both, although my heart is with homeschooling.
The articles in this section discuss public school issues, creating an intellectually fulfilling home environment, and homeschooling from an LDS point of view.
As a veteran homeschooler and the author of a homeschooling book, I consider homeschooling to be one of the best parts of eternal family life on earth. It allows us to spend so much more time with our little ones, and to be the ones who get to introduce them to the joys of reading, history and everything else that makes mortality special. For more help on homeschooling your children, please visit my other site, Treasured Time for Homeschooling. That page is for a general audience and is not specifically LDS-themed, although it does reflect church values, naturally.
